Richard Payne, MD received his medical degree from the University of California at San Diego in 1982. He graduated from residency training in Family Practice at Santa Monica Hospital in 1985 and entered private practice at North Coast Family Medical Group. Dr. Payne is Board Certified in Family Practice, has recertified in 1992 and 1999, and was awarded the status of Fellow in the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is a former President of the San Diego Academy of Family Physicians and continues to serve on the board of directors. Dr. Payne is committed to the healing and wellness of his patients through motivating lifestyle change and utilizing the latest advances in medical science. He enjoys teaching medical students at UCSD as a volunteer Clinical Instructor. Dr. Payne, his wife Cathy, and their three children, enjoy being active in St. John’s church community and love living the Leucadia lifestyle.
